Classes
A typical evening
Classes are held every Monday night in Redditch every Thursday
night in Alcester starting at 7:45pm and ending at 10.45pm.
On arrival you will be welcomed by the Want2Dance staff.
Take the opportunity to get a drink from the bar, change your
shoes and perhaps get in an early dance.
Beginners class
The evening begins at 7.45pm with the beginners lesson where
you will be taught four moves. No prior experience is necessary
and each lesson starts from the beginning so it doesn't matter
when you start, or if you can not attend a particular night.
There is no need to bring a partner as lessons are taught by
rotating the class, and this ensure everyone dances with everyone
else. Women as well as men are encouraged to ask partners to
dance, and the protocol is to never refuse.
The beginners lesson is followed by 20 minutes of freestyle
dancing during which time you get the opportunity to practice
the moves you have just learnt, or just dance for pleasure.
Intermediate and review classes
After the first freestyle session the Intermediate class
begins, beginners with less than 6 weeks experience are
invited to attend the Review class where they can go over
the beginners moves with one of the instructors on a more
individual basis.
